About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Put a stamp on it - Mid Month inspiration

Hi Folks,  I haven't been around for a while,  but I'm back today to share with you a little mid month inspiration for this months Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

Working in my Dina Wakley Mixed Media journal, along with Dylusions-Cherry Pie & White Linen paint I used Tim Holtz tiles stencil to build up the layers of my tiled background.  Using a white pigment ink pad and smokey grey Versafine ink pad, I added some leaf stamps from the Carabelle

I splattered some of the Cherry Pie and white paint onto the page, drying between each colour change.  I also did a little mark making using an old gift card and some old bottle tops.

I stamped the main leaf image on the centre of the page and heat embossed with some clear embossing powder.  I gave the leaves some shimmer using a wink of Stella pen and dotted around some pearlescent sequins.  Just a simple sentiment for a simple page 'Beautiful' from one of Tim Holtz chit chat ideology books.

Thank you for visiting today.  I always look forward to reading your comments.  You still have until the end of the month to 'Put a stamp on it'. Head over to MMMC blog, check out the rules and post your entry.

Mixed Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #36 Put a Stamp on it

A new month, a new challenge and this month brings along a stamping challenge over at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

Our sponsors this month is Topflight Stamps.  Topflight stamps is a brand new, online, boutique stamp store offering you a world wide selection of delightful stamps.  There is a $25 gift certificate for the lucky winner of this months challenge.

For this months challenge I decided to get inky on a tag!  Using Distress Oxides along with Visible Image stamps I created my musical tag.

Using Fired brick and Spiced marmalade Distress Oxides I worked on the tag, spritzing with water and drying in between.  I die cut the tag using one of  Tim Holtz thinlets.

The singing diva was stamped with versafine black ink.  I continued to add some stencilling to the tag first with some Distress ink and then with some gold paint.

Onto some glossy paper, previously prepared with alcohol ink, I stamped the girl once more and cut out her fingerprint dress to layer onto the tag.  I added some detail so the diva using a gold pen.

I stamped "Sing" onto some black card with a versamark watermark ink pad.  I used Stampendous gold embossing power along with some of the frantage glitter to give it some bling!

Now it's your turn to bring out the stamps and you could be selecting  some new ones  to add to to your collection if rustle up an entry for this months challenge.  Head over to Mixed Media Monthly Challenge blog, check out the rules and submit your entry to be in with a chance to win.

Crafty hugs,
